A quick post today to briefly talk about how you can accurately check your niche site rankings in Google. What we need here is a way to see “unbiased” results in Google SERPs. What do I mean by that? It’s simple.
Google tends to keep track of your search patterns and location (IP address) and will most likely show your own site artificially inflated in the results pages (even at #1 spot) if you have to check it quite often. This may lead you to believe that your site is actually ranked #1! Not completely accurate (although it may be true).
So let’s look a couple of quick ways to correctly check your niche site rankings.
1. Ranktracker: This is fantastic tool from the guys at www.link-assistant.com. This tool offers both paid and free versions. The only difference being that the free tool doesn’t allow you to save your project settings so you will need to start your rank tracking from scratch again. For all intents and purposes the free version works absolutely fine.
2. Hide My Ass: This is a free web proxy server which essentially allows you to perform an “anonymous” Google search and allows you to display unbiased results.
3. Scroogle scraper: My favourite “anonymous” Google search tool. Essentially blocks Google from setting a cooking and hides your own IP address for (nearly) 100% unbiased results.
